Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall
C+
ValueB-
NeedB

FutureB-
Flashes of a plan, unevenly executed. Ravens: C+. For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Ravens walked out of the weekend still thin at quarterback, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. The good and the questionable cancel out to a C+.
Every board in the league had Robinson lower, and that gap is the story. The dealing tilted against them, just enough to notice. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Quantity was the play, for better or worse.
It nets out as a middle-of-the-pack haul that neither helps nor hurts much.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Tyler Nubin
In Round 1, Pick 30 they get an enforcer at safety at fair value. More want than need.
Pick62
Rnd2
Brenden Rice
No edge and no loss on Brenden Rice in pick No. 62; it is a wash and a sensible one. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick115
Rnd4
Dillon Johnson
No drama and no debate, Dillon Johnson went about where he belonged in the 115th overall pick. It fills a real need, too.
Pick117
Rnd4
Leonard Taylor III
Fair-plus on Leonard Taylor III, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick131
Rnd4
Johnny Dixon
Nothing to complain about; Johnny Dixon went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick134
Rnd4
Kamal Hadden
Kamal Hadden at No. 134 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick144
Rnd5
Javion Cohen
They took Javion Cohen at par in pick 144, which is nothing to complain about. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick164
Rnd5
Layden Robinson
They paid a round early for Layden Robinson in the 164th pick, more than the board wanted. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick248
Rnd7
Stefon Thompson
Stefon Thompson at No. 248 is a conviction pick that outran the value. The roster reasoning here is anyone's guess.
