They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. J.J. McCarthy is the Bears' quarterback, full stop. One of the weekend's best, top to bottom, and a A- to show for it.

Landing Alt that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck.

The Rice reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, J.J. McCarthy and all.
