The steal of the weekend belongs to the Raiders and Washington: B. The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: A'Mauri Washington, Round 3, Pick 23, roughly 62 picks past where he belonged. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The cost of the Becker reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
Charlie Becker
In Round 1, Pick 20 they get a difference-maker at receiver, even if it was a touch early. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick56
Rnd2
Will Echoles
Steal is underselling it; Will Echoles at No. 56 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It fills a real need, too.
Pick87
Rnd3
A'Mauri Washington
A interior defensive lineman of that caliber at the Round 3 slot is the definition of value, full stop. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick124
Rnd4
Evan Tengesdahl
They barely believed it either: Evan Tengesdahl still on the board at slot 124. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick158
Rnd5
Jackson Bennee
They robbed the room for Jackson Bennee here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick200
Rnd6
Jermaine Mathews Jr.
The board fumbled Jermaine Mathews Jr. all the way to the 200th overall pick, and they scooped it up. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
