FutureA
A masterclass at the trade table lands the Browns a A-. If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Browns, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend. A near-flawless weekend of work, and a A- to cap it.
Igbinosun has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. On value alone, Lew makes the weekend a net positive.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Carnell Tate and all.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
Carnell Tate
In the 11th pick they get a matchup problem out wide. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick27
Rnd1
Caleb Lomu
Caleb Lomu in slot 27 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick40
Rnd2
KC Concepcion
A reasonable price with a little left over, KC Concepcion in Round 2, Pick 8. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick70
Rnd3
Connor Lew
A quiet steal in No. 70: Connor Lew for less than the market said. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick89
Rnd3
Brian Parker II
Brian Parker II in the Round 3 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick140
Rnd5
Blake Miller
Nothing to complain about; Blake Miller went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It fills a real need, too.
Pick145
Rnd5
Keylan Rutledge
Good price on Keylan Rutledge in pick No. 145, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick147
Rnd5
Bray Hubbard
A clean, defensible pick in pick 147 with a little surplus value in Bray Hubbard. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick148
Rnd5
Davison Igbinosun
Value said wait; Davison Igbinosun in slot 148 says they were not listening. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick167
Rnd5
Duce Robinson
They liked Duce Robinson enough to skip the value, taking him in No. 167. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
