Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureB
The Commanders won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: B+.

Whoever sat across the table from the Commanders should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.

They banked enough surplus on Hunter to cover a lot of smaller sins. They will need Martin to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The tight end hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Mike Green
In the Round 1 slot they get a bendy edge with upside. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick61 Rnd2 Xavier Watts
A safety of that caliber at the 61st pick is the definition of value, full stop. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick136 Rnd4 Jacob Parrish
A quiet steal in Round 4, Pick 34: Jacob Parrish for less than the market said. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick174 Rnd5 Chase Lundt
Chase Lundt at slot 174 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick211 Rnd6 Jarquez Hunter
Jarquez Hunter in the 211th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick239 Rnd7 Ja'Corey Brooks
A clean, defensible pick in pick 239 with a little surplus value in Ja'Corey Brooks. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick245 Rnd7 Ty Hamilton
Ty Hamilton in No. 245 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick247 Rnd7 Nick Martin
Nick Martin at pick No. 247 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A minor need, but a need all the same.
