The curious call sets the tone. With offensive lineman, safety and other spots still glaring, the Lions used pick No. 91 on McKinnley Jackson, an interior defensive lineman they were not exactly short of. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

The offensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Watson has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Jackson at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend.

Good work on the whole, with offensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
