Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall A

Larceny in slot 229 lands the Commanders a A, Scott and all.

Thirty-one other rooms let Quay'sheed Scott slide, and the Commanders were the ones holding the card at pick 229. Highway robbery.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Kingsley Suamataia pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa and all.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa
In Round 1, Pick 31 they get the heartbeat of the defense, and a steal at that. More want than need.
Pick40 Rnd2 Trey'Dez Green
Trey'Dez Green at pick 40 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick63 Rnd2 Kade Pieper
Kade Pieper in the 63rd overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick72 Rnd3 Devan Thompkins
Devan Thompkins at slot 72 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick110 Rnd4 Jaylen McClain
Value with a capital V on Jaylen McClain in pick No. 110, a genuine coup. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick145 Rnd5 Devin McCuin
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Devin McCuin. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick167 Rnd5 Xavier Lucas
They paid sticker price for Xavier Lucas in No. 167, and that is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick188 Rnd6 Jayden Virgin-Morgan
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jayden Virgin-Morgan in the Round 6 slot. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick229 Rnd7 Quay'sheed Scott
A cornerback of that caliber at the 229th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
