Draft Grade — Seahawks

FutureB
The phones sank the Seahawks this weekend: D. The trade table was where it all came apart. The Seahawks shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.
If Tupuola-Fetui pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Seahawks paired the rookies with proven help, Terence Steele leading the way.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, wide receiver very much included.
Pick Analysis
Pick16
Rnd1
Laiatu Latu
In the Round 1 slot they get a quarterback's worst nightmare at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick37
Rnd2
Cooper Beebe
A reach for Cooper Beebe in No. 37; a little patience would have been rewarded. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick81
Rnd3
Blake Corum
Blake Corum in pick 81 is fair value, right on his grade. It fills a real need, too.
Pick97
Rnd3
Andru Phillips
They took Andru Phillips at par in slot 97, which is nothing to complain about. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick118
Rnd4
James Williams
By-the-book stuff, James Williams at the 118th pick squarely in line with his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick174
Rnd5
Javion Cohen
A tidy little value on Javion Cohen in Round 5, Pick 38, a step better than break-even. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick192
Rnd6
Zion Tupuola-Fetui
A wild overpay on Zion Tupuola-Fetui in pick No. 192, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick235
Rnd7
Josh Wallace
Josh Wallace at the 235th overall pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
