You build a draft on nights like this. Jaylin Simpson had no business being available in pick 201, and the Lions did the only sane thing and turned in the card. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

They will need Casey to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The safety hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
