The Raiders bet the future on McCarthy. The board says D-.

Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Raiders spent the Round 7 slot on Charles Turner III, a name most had 69 spots down the list. The process wobbled, and the D- is where it lands.

J.J. McCarthy gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

The Colson pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and edge rusher is still a hole.
