The real work happened on the phones. The Steelers fleeced their trade partners, turning their picks into a noticeably bigger pile than they started with.

Getting Henderson where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Adding Ladd McConkey by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies. Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
