The trade table was where it all came apart. The Broncos shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D is the result.

Drake Maye is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. That linebacker hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. It is not that Solomon is a bad player; it is that the Broncos had louder needs to answer first.

The cost of the Solomon reach is exactly the players who went right after him. If one pick saves this weekend, it is DeJean.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
