JScrillz DRAFTING FOR THEPatriots
Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Patriots answered their biggest question with Maye. Grade: B. The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Patriots spent their marquee pick on Drake Maye, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
However the rest shakes out, Worthy at that price is a win they earned. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. They went 3 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Drake Maye
In the 3rd overall pick they get their guy under center for the next decade. A real need, handled.
Pick34
Rnd2
JC Latham
A quiet steal in Round 2, Pick 2: JC Latham for less than the market said. The roster fit checks out.
Pick68
Rnd3
Xavier Worthy
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Xavier Worthy in slot 68, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick103
Rnd4
Malachi Corley
They barely believed it either: Malachi Corley still on the board at the Round 4 slot. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
