Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall D-
ValueC+ NeedB+ TradesF FutureB-
The Cardinals got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D-.

Somebody took the Cardinals to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. They will need Singleton to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick5 Rnd1 Spencer Fano
In Round 1, Pick 5 they get a plug-and-play piece up front, even if it was a touch early. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick36 Rnd2 Colton Hood
A reasonable price with a little left over, Colton Hood in pick 36. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick45 Rnd2 Olaivavega Ioane
They took Olaivavega Ioane at par in the Round 2 slot, which is nothing to complain about. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick67 Rnd3 Nicholas Singleton
Nicholas Singleton at No. 67 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick106 Rnd4 Zachariah Branch
Zachariah Branch at slot 106 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick144 Rnd5 Drew Allar
Drew Allar in the 144th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick185 Rnd6 Evan Stewart
Evan Stewart in pick No. 185 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick219 Rnd7 Barion Brown
No drama and no debate, Barion Brown went about where he belonged in the 219th pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
