Draft Grade — Rams
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesC+ FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Rams: B-.

The Rams did not so much draft Dominique Hampton as overpay for him, 47 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

The Chambers value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick19 Rnd1 Chop Robinson
In the 19th pick they get a disruptor off the edge at fair value.
Pick52 Rnd2 Roman Wilson
A tidy little value on Roman Wilson in Round 2, Pick 20, a step better than break-even. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick99 Rnd3 Dominick Puni
Dominick Puni is a better player than the Round 3 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick110 Rnd4 Isaac Guerendo
By-the-book stuff, Isaac Guerendo at slot 110 squarely in line with his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick112 Rnd4 Andru Phillips
Andru Phillips at pick 112 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick153 Rnd5 Roger Rosengarten
Good price on Roger Rosengarten in No. 153, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick154 Rnd5 Anthony Gould
They jumped the gun on Anthony Gould, taking him earlier than his grade liked. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick195 Rnd6 Elijah Jones
They took Elijah Jones at par in the Round 6 slot, which is nothing to complain about. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick209 Rnd6 Steele Chambers
They barely believed it either: Steele Chambers still on the board at slot 209. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick213 Rnd6 Dominique Hampton
Dominique Hampton at Round 6, Pick 38 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick217 Rnd6 Erick All
A clean, defensible pick in the 217th pick with a little surplus value in Erick All. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick254 Rnd7 Jackson Sirmon
A premium they did not need to pay, Jackson Sirmon a notch or two before his time. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
