NEAC DRAFTING FOR THEPackers

Draft Grade — Packers

FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Packers: B-. The Packers torched the value chart for Dallas Gant, taking him 53 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Legette pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Terrion Arnold
In the 25th pick they get a ballhawk on the outside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick41
Rnd2
Jordan Morgan
Fair-plus on Jordan Morgan, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick58
Rnd2
Bralen Trice
Bralen Trice in pick 58 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick88
Rnd3
Xavier Legette
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Xavier Legette at pick No. 88. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick91
Rnd3
Dominick Puni
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Dominick Puni. The roster fit checks out.
Pick127
Rnd4
Jarrian Jones
They reached a country mile for Jarrian Jones at the Round 4 slot, and the board is aghast. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick168
Rnd5
Kitan Oladapo
The board had Kitan Oladapo higher than the Round 5 slot, and the safety fell to them anyway. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick204
Rnd6
Michael Barrett
The board had cheaper options than Michael Barrett at slot 204, and it noticed. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick216
Rnd6
Jawhar Jordan
A wild overpay on Jawhar Jordan in pick 216, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick243
Rnd7
Josh Wallace
They went early on Josh Wallace in Round 7, Pick 23, and the value did not follow. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick251
Rnd7
Dallas Gant
They left a pile of value on the table to take Dallas Gant this early at No. 251. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
