Draft Grade — Bengals

The Bengals won the night they stopped Emmanwori from sliding. Grade: B+. Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Bengals came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.
They banked enough surplus on Emmanwori to cover a lot of smaller sins. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through cornerback.
The Ladd McConkey deal gives the class an established piece to lean on. Tight end is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
Tyler Warren
In No. 22 they get a matchup weapon at tight end. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick49
Rnd2
Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori in the Round 2 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick81
Rnd3
Tate Ratledge
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Tate Ratledge at pick 81 is the proof. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick86
Rnd3
Donovan Jackson
Donovan Jackson at slot 86 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick118
Rnd4
Cam Skattebo
You do not let a running back like Cam Skattebo reach the 118th pick and blink. They did not. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick154
Rnd5
Jeffrey Bassa
The board fumbled Jeffrey Bassa all the way to Round 5, Pick 15, and they scooped it up. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick195
Rnd6
Ajani Cornelius
Somehow Ajani Cornelius was still sitting there in pick 195, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
