FOXY KNOXY DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks

Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall

ValueB-

FutureB-
The Seahawks won the night they stopped Smith from sliding. Grade: B-. For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Seahawks walked out of the weekend still thin at edge rusher, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons.
That Smith pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The cost of the Liufau reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Cooper DeJean
In No. 27 they get an island corner at fair value. More want than need.
Pick66
Rnd3
Christian Haynes
They paid sticker price for Christian Haynes in pick 66, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick81
Rnd3
Dominick Puni
Dominick Puni at pick No. 81 is a conviction pick that outran the value. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick112
Rnd4
Matt Goncalves
Matt Goncalves in the 112th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick118
Rnd4
McKinnley Jackson
McKinnley Jackson in slot 118 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
Pick148
Rnd5
Marist Liufau
They left a pile of value on the table to take Marist Liufau this early at the 148th overall pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick179
Rnd6
Tykee Smith
Tykee Smith at the 179th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick192
Rnd6
Curtis Jacobs
They took Curtis Jacobs at par in the 192nd overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick235
Rnd7
Kimani Vidal
A big swing on Kimani Vidal at No. 235, well ahead of any board in the building. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
