Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B-

The Seahawks did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Seahawks did exactly that with Kimani Vidal in pick No. 192. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.

The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They banked enough surplus on Braswell to cover a lot of smaller sins.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Jackson Powers-Johnson
In No. 31 they get an anchor for the offensive line. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick63 Rnd2 Chris Braswell
They robbed the room for Chris Braswell here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick81 Rnd3 Cedric Gray
This one needs a full-page explanation: Cedric Gray in the 81st pick, miles early. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick94 Rnd3 Tyler Davis
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Tyler Davis well ahead of where he belonged. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick102 Rnd4 Dadrion Taylor-Demerson
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson slid further than he should have, and pick 102 is lovely value for the safety. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick118 Rnd4 Ben Sinnott
They paid up for Ben Sinnott at slot 118 when waiting would have done the job. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick179 Rnd6 Jha'Quan Jackson
No edge and no loss on Jha'Quan Jackson in No. 179; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick192 Rnd6 Kimani Vidal
Kimani Vidal at pick No. 192 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick235 Rnd7 Tyrice Knight
Tyrice Knight in pick 235 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
