Draft Grade — Browns
Overall
B+
ValueA-
NeedB
TradesB+
FutureB-
The Browns let Coleman fall and pounced. Final grade: B+. The rest of the league will want that one back. Keon Coleman tumbling to the Browns in No. 85 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick56
Rnd2
Jonathon Brooks
Jonathon Brooks slid further than he should have, and the Round 2 slot is lovely value for the running back. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick85
Rnd3
Keon Coleman
Taking Keon Coleman in pick 85 is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick155
Rnd5
McKinnley Jackson
McKinnley Jackson in slot 155 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick205
Rnd6
Caedan Wallace
Caedan Wallace at the 205th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick243
Rnd7
Daequan Hardy
They robbed the room for Daequan Hardy here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
