Draft Grade — Bears

The Bears found their guy under center in Williams: B-. The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Bears spent their marquee pick on Caleb Williams, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.
They banked enough surplus on Coleman to cover a lot of smaller sins. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Caleb Williams
In the 1st overall pick they get a long-term answer under center. A real need, handled.
Pick9
Rnd1
Rome Odunze
In the Round 1 slot they get a go-to option on the outside at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick75
Rnd3
Keon Coleman
Circle this one: Keon Coleman at No. 75 is a fall that decides a draft. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick111
Rnd4
Dominick Puni
Dominick Puni in pick 111 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The roster fit checks out.
Pick123
Rnd4
Mohamed Kamara
Mohamed Kamara in the 123rd pick is fair value, right on his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick143
Rnd5
Isaiah Adams
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Isaiah Adams in pick No. 143, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
