Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Dolphins were there to profit. Malik Benson, the No. 137 name on the board, should have been long gone before slot 220.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. Job largely done: quarterback settled and 8 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work. They trusted the board more than the depth chart.
