The rest of the league will want that one back. Maason Smith tumbling to the Lions in No. 163 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. The Jackson reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
