Nobody had Roman Hemby this high, and it is not close. The Raiders reached 138 spots to get him at Round 7, Pick 3. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

Fernando Mendoza is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They banked enough surplus on Lane to cover a lot of smaller sins.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
