Draft Grade — Buccaneers
Overall A-
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureA
The Buccaneers turned the phones into found money: A-.

When the story of this class is written, it opens with Princewill Umanmielen at the 53rd overall pick, a reach of 45 spots that the board flatly disagrees with.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The Pieper steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Leonard Moore and all.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 Leonard Moore
In pick No. 22 they get a lockdown presence outside at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick36 Rnd2 Will Echoles
Taking Will Echoles in No. 36 is close to grand larceny; an interior defensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick47 Rnd2 Chris Cole
The board fumbled Chris Cole all the way to the 47th pick, and they scooped it up. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick53 Rnd2 Princewill Umanmielen
A real head-scratcher, Princewill Umanmielen in Round 2, Pick 21 is miles ahead of his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick71 Rnd3 Kade Pieper
Kade Pieper in the Round 3 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick108 Rnd4 Ian Strong
They reached a country mile for Ian Strong at the 108th overall pick, and the board is aghast. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick142 Rnd5 Antwan Raymond
Antwan Raymond in the 142nd pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick184 Rnd6 CJ Bailey
A market-rate quarterback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on CJ Bailey. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick228 Rnd7 Benjamin Brahmer
They paid up for Benjamin Brahmer at Round 7, Pick 7 when waiting would have done the job. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
