bringbackbrady DRAFTING FOR THEGiants

Draft Grade — Giants
Overall

FutureA+
The Giants did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B. You build a draft on nights like this. Emeka Egbuka had no business being available in the Round 3 slot, and the Giants did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
Shough has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Adding Samuel Womack III by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
They gave back a little on the phones for the right to move. The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
Mykel Williams
In Round 1, Pick 20 they get juice off the edge. A real need, handled.
Pick34
Rnd2
Shavon Revel Jr.
Shavon Revel Jr. at pick No. 34 is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick51
Rnd2
Tyler Booker
A slide stopped in pick No. 51, with Tyler Booker worth more than the price. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick65
Rnd3
Emeka Egbuka
Taking Emeka Egbuka in the 65th pick is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick99
Rnd3
Cam Skattebo
They paid up for Cam Skattebo at the 99th overall pick when waiting would have done the job. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick105
Rnd4
Tyler Shough
A real head-scratcher, Tyler Shough in slot 105 is miles ahead of his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick154
Rnd5
Nick Nash
They did well to land Nick Nash in pick 154, just ahead of his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick191
Rnd6
JJ Pegues
JJ Pegues at Round 6, Pick 15 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick197
Rnd6
Oronde Gadsden II
Good price on Oronde Gadsden II in No. 197, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick219
Rnd7
Caleb Ransaw
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Caleb Ransaw at the Round 7 slot is the proof. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick246
Rnd7
Teddye Buchanan
They paid sticker price for Teddye Buchanan in slot 246, and that is fine. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
