Draft Grade — Bears
Overall A-
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureA+
The Bears found their guy under center in Williams: A-.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Bears spent their marquee pick on Caleb Williams, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. Just about everything broke right, and the A- follows.

Landing McCaffrey that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Caleb Williams and all.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In pick 1 they get the arm they will build around at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick40 Rnd2 Xavier Worthy
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Xavier Worthy. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick75 Rnd3 Trey Benson
No edge and no loss on Trey Benson in the 75th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick93 Rnd3 Bralen Trice
Bralen Trice is a better player than Round 3, Pick 30 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick100 Rnd3 Sedrick Van Pran
They read the board right and Sedrick Van Pran was the payoff at the Round 3 slot. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick122 Rnd4 Calen Bullock
Calen Bullock in pick No. 122 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick152 Rnd5 Trevor Keegan
By-the-book stuff, Trevor Keegan at No. 152 squarely in line with his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick186 Rnd6 Luke McCaffrey
Steal is underselling it; Luke McCaffrey at the 186th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The roster fit checks out.
