The board owed the Panthers one, and it paid up: Josiah Trotter, the No. 64 name on the board, sitting there at No. 83 like a gift left on the doorstep. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

The Hobbs pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The trade work was a quiet net positive.
