Larceny in pick 203 lands the Chiefs a B, Simpson and all.

You could see the war room lean forward. Jaylin Simpson at pick 203 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. No fireworks, but a solid B.

Every board in the league had Robinson lower, and that gap is the story. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Terrion Arnold
In the Round 1 slot they get a press-man option on the boundary at fair value. More want than need.
Pick57 Rnd2 Patrick Paul
A tidy little value on Patrick Paul in slot 57, a step better than break-even. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick89 Rnd3 Zak Zinter
They took Zak Zinter at par in the 89th pick, which is nothing to complain about. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick126 Rnd4 Cade Stover
Cade Stover in pick 126 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick167 Rnd5 Tre Harris
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tre Harris. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick171 Rnd5 Darius Robinson
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Darius Robinson well ahead of where he belonged. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick175 Rnd5 Theo Johnson
Theo Johnson at the 175th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick203 Rnd6 Jaylin Simpson
Jaylin Simpson in No. 203 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick246 Rnd7 Walter Rouse
A reasonable price with a little left over, Walter Rouse in the Round 7 slot. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
