Mr Pfizer DRAFTING FOR THEChiefs

Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall

ValueB-

FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Chiefs, and a B- to prove it. The Chiefs looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Cedric Johnson at pick 219 regardless, 36 picks early. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. Getting Harris where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Amarius Mims
In pick No. 25 they get an anchor for the offensive line at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick57
Rnd2
Brian Thomas Jr.
Brian Thomas Jr. at the 57th pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick89
Rnd3
TreVeyon Henderson
A reasonable price with a little left over, TreVeyon Henderson in slot 89. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick125
Rnd4
Cade Stover
They liked Cade Stover enough to skip the value, taking him in the 125th overall pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick167
Rnd5
Jaylin Simpson
Jaylin Simpson at No. 167 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick175
Rnd5
Tre Harris
Nice patience on Tre Harris, who had no business lasting to Round 5, Pick 39. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick189
Rnd6
Darius Robinson
A conviction pick on Darius Robinson at Round 6, Pick 14 that the board grades a round light. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick203
Rnd6
Kamal Hadden
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Kamal Hadden. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick219
Rnd6
Cedric Johnson
Cedric Johnson in No. 219 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The roster fit checks out.
Pick246
Rnd7
Justin Eboigbe
Justin Eboigbe in slot 246 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
