The Chiefs checked most of the boxes and earned a B-.

Nobody else had Christian Jones anywhere near the 161st pick. The Chiefs did, by 29 spots, and that gap is the whole story. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

Spending an early pick on TE-EDGE with tight end, quarterback and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up.

The Oladapo pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
