Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB+ FutureB-
The Chiefs kept it disciplined and banked a B.

Boards are made to be trusted, and the Chiefs shredded theirs for Justin Eboigbe. He came off 26 spots early, and the room will hear about it.

The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. However the rest shakes out, Robinson at that price is a win they earned.

Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick51 Rnd2 Patrick Paul
Patrick Paul at the Round 2 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick57 Rnd2 Jermaine Burton
Jermaine Burton in pick 57 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick89 Rnd3 Bucky Irving
Bucky Irving at slot 89 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick119 Rnd4 Tate Ratledge
A clean, defensible pick in the 119th overall pick with a little surplus value in Tate Ratledge. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick130 Rnd4 Khyree Jackson
They took Khyree Jackson at par in the 130th pick, which is nothing to complain about. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick169 Rnd5 Tre Harris
No edge and no loss on Tre Harris in No. 169; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick171 Rnd5 Jaylin Simpson
Jaylin Simpson in pick 171 is fair value, right on his grade. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick175 Rnd5 Theo Johnson
They paid sticker price for Theo Johnson in the Round 5 slot, and that is fine. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick209 Rnd6 Darius Robinson
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Darius Robinson at Round 6, Pick 34. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick246 Rnd7 Justin Eboigbe
They left a pile of value on the table to take Justin Eboigbe this early at No. 246. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
