Arron Rodgers DRAFTING FOR THEChiefs
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Chiefs for Pearsall: B-. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Chiefs were there to profit. Ricky Pearsall, the No. 205 name on the board, should have been long gone before Round 7, Pick 32.
The Henderson pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Amarius Mims
In the 31st overall pick they get a plug-and-play piece up front, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick63
Rnd2
TreVeyon Henderson
A wild overpay on TreVeyon Henderson in slot 63, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick94
Rnd3
Tyleik Williams
Tyleik Williams in Round 3, Pick 31 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick131
Rnd4
Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson in pick No. 131 is fair value, right on his grade. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick163
Rnd5
Ben Sinnott
By-the-book stuff, Ben Sinnott at pick 163 squarely in line with his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick171
Rnd5
Jaylin Simpson
No drama and no debate, Jaylin Simpson went about where he belonged in the Round 5 slot. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick175
Rnd5
Tre Harris
Tre Harris at the 175th pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick209
Rnd6
Tyler Baron
They read the board right and Tyler Baron was the payoff at No. 209. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick252
Rnd7
Ricky Pearsall
The board fumbled Ricky Pearsall all the way to No. 252, and they scooped it up. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
