Draft Grade — Titans
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedA-
TradesB-
FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Titans: B. Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Titans never addressed edge rusher, and it is the kind of gap that lingers.
Getting Thomas Jr. where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The cost of the Jackson reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick7
Rnd1
Olumuyiwa Fashanu
In pick 7 they get protection for the quarterback. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick38
Rnd2
Brian Thomas Jr.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Brian Thomas Jr. at No. 38. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick106
Rnd4
Donovan Jackson
Donovan Jackson at pick No. 106 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick144
Rnd5
Nehemiah Pritchett
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Nehemiah Pritchett in the 144th pick. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick184
Rnd6
Josh Proctor
They did well to land Josh Proctor in the 184th overall pick, just ahead of his grade. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick228
Rnd7
Jason Henderson
Jason Henderson at the Round 7 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
