The Seahawks bet the future on McCarthy. The board says C+.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Seahawks spent their marquee pick on J.J. McCarthy, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.

The cost of the Bell reach is exactly the players who went right after him. For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Hit on J.J. McCarthy and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.
