Draft Grade — Browns
Overall
B
ValueB-

FutureB-
Ward is the plan now, and the Browns grade out a B. The search is over. The Browns handed the keys to Cam Ward, and the whole operation now runs on his development.
That is a running back worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick2
Rnd1
Cam Ward
In No. 2 they get their guy under center for the next decade at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick33
Rnd2
Emeka Egbuka
They let Emeka Egbuka come to them and pounced at the Round 2 slot. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick67
Rnd3
Kaleb Johnson
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Kaleb Johnson in slot 67, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
Pick94
Rnd3
Will Howard
No edge and no loss on Will Howard in the 94th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
