The Bears left with their quarterback, and a D- to match.

The war room fell hard for Trey Taylor, and it showed at the 203rd pick: 94 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. Too much went sideways, and the D- is the honest tally.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. Caleb Williams is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The Solomon pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at interior defensive lineman, running back and other spots. However the rest shakes out, Elliss at that price is a win they earned.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
