Draft Grade — Bears
Overall A-
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureA
A franchise passer in Williams headlines a A- weekend for the Bears.

After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Bears committed. Caleb Williams is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. The Vidal pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. The cost of the Sinnott reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

In the end it comes back to Caleb Williams, and a haul good enough to build on right away.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In pick 1 they get their quarterback of the future at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick30 Rnd1 JC Latham
In pick No. 30 they get a long-term starter on the line, and a steal at that.
Pick45 Rnd2 Zach Frazier
Zach Frazier at the 45th pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick75 Rnd3 Ben Sinnott
Ben Sinnott at Round 3, Pick 11 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick113 Rnd4 Brenden Rice
They went early on Brenden Rice in the 113th overall pick, and the value did not follow. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick122 Rnd4 Mohamed Kamara
Mohamed Kamara at slot 122 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick175 Rnd5 Tahj Washington
No drama and no debate, Tahj Washington went about where he belonged in No. 175. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick218 Rnd6 Trey Taylor
A premium they did not need to pay, Trey Taylor a notch or two before his time. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick239 Rnd7 Kimani Vidal
Steal is underselling it; Kimani Vidal at the Round 7 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
