LuckyGM777 DRAFTING FOR THEBears

Draft Grade — Bears
Overall
B
ValueB-
NeedB
TradesB+
FutureB+
The Bears bet the future on Williams. The board says B. The rest of the league had time to spare on Trevor Keegan; the Bears did not wait, grabbing him 64 spots ahead at pick No. 170. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
Everything downstream of Caleb Williams depends on Caleb Williams, and the building knows it. Washington at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Caleb Williams
In Round 1, Pick 1 they get the face of the franchise. A real need, handled.
Pick14
Rnd1
Olumuyiwa Fashanu
Nothing to complain about; Olumuyiwa Fashanu went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick45
Rnd2
Jackson Powers-Johnson
Jackson Powers-Johnson at the 45th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick75
Rnd3
Brenden Rice
Fair-plus on Brenden Rice, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick110
Rnd4
Luke McCaffrey
Luke McCaffrey at pick 110 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick122
Rnd4
Keith Randolph Jr.
Keith Randolph Jr. at the Round 4 slot is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick146
Rnd5
Grayson Murphy
They talked themselves into Grayson Murphy at the 146th pick, and the board did not agree. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick152
Rnd5
Malik Washington
Malik Washington at No. 152 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick170
Rnd5
Trevor Keegan
A real head-scratcher, Trevor Keegan in the 170th overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
