Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB TradesA- FutureC
Emmanwori should have been long gone. The Bills pounced, and earned a B.

The board owed the Bills one, and it paid up: Nick Emmanwori, the No. 19 name on the board, sitting there at slot 65 like a gift left on the doorstep. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

They are betting TeSlaa proves the room right and everyone else wrong. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through linebacker. The Alexander pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with linebacker and quarterback still on the board.

Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Landon Jackson
In slot 30 they get a bendy edge with upside, though they paid up to get him.
Pick56 Rnd2 Trey Amos
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Trey Amos at the 56th pick is the proof. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick62 Rnd2 Alfred Collins
Alfred Collins slipping to No. 62 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick65 Rnd3 Nick Emmanwori
Steal is underselling it; Nick Emmanwori at Round 3, Pick 1 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick99 Rnd3 Jamaree Caldwell
Jamaree Caldwell at pick 99 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick109 Rnd4 Zy Alexander
A want over a need in the Round 4 slot: Zy Alexander adds a cornerback while linebacker and quarterback keeps waiting.
Pick169 Rnd5 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
They jumped the gun on Dont'e Thornton Jr., taking him earlier than his grade liked. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick170 Rnd5 Jalen Rivers
They let Jalen Rivers come to them and pounced at the 170th overall pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick206 Rnd6 Isaac TeSlaa
A wild overpay on Isaac TeSlaa in pick No. 206, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick219 Rnd7 Thomas Fidone II
Value with a capital V on Thomas Fidone II in the Round 7 slot, a genuine coup. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick246 Rnd7 Phil Mafah
Phil Mafah in Round 7, Pick 30 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
