Draft Grade — Bears
Overall
B+
ValueC+
NeedB-

FutureB
The Bears left with their quarterback, and a B+ to match. The Bears spent the pick that matters most on Jayden Daniels, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. Good, not great, and the B+ says as much.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. They will need McCormick to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick6
Rnd1
Jayden Daniels
In pick No. 6 they get the face of the franchise. A real need, handled.
Pick15
Rnd1
Brian Thomas Jr.
In slot 15 they get a true top target, reach and all. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick36
Rnd2
Tyler Nubin
By-the-book stuff, Tyler Nubin at the Round 2 slot squarely in line with his ranking. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick46
Rnd2
Zach Frazier
A premium they did not need to pay, Zach Frazier a notch or two before his time. The roster fit checks out.
Pick47
Rnd2
Malachi Corley
They liked Malachi Corley enough to skip the value, taking him in the 47th pick. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick75
Rnd3
Patrick Paul
They read the board right and Patrick Paul was the payoff at Round 3, Pick 11. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick78
Rnd3
Trey Benson
They went early on Trey Benson in pick 78, and the value did not follow. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick122
Rnd4
Mason McCormick
They talked themselves into Mason McCormick at No. 122, and the board did not agree. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
