Draft Grade — Bears
Overall

TradesF
FutureA+
The Bears finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a D+. The phones were a trap the Bears kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal.
Jayden Daniels is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Harden. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Van Pran has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
Pick Analysis
Pick5
Rnd1
Jayden Daniels
In pick No. 5 they get the arm they will build around at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick10
Rnd1
Rome Odunze
In the Round 1 slot they get a weapon on the perimeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick37
Rnd2
Amarius Mims
The board had Amarius Mims higher than Round 2, Pick 5, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick51
Rnd2
Darius Robinson
Darius Robinson in the 51st overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick69
Rnd3
Sedrick Van Pran
The board had cheaper options than Sedrick Van Pran at slot 69, and it noticed. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick75
Rnd3
Javon Bullard
They let Javon Bullard come to them and pounced at pick 75. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick111
Rnd4
Brenden Rice
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Brenden Rice at the 111th pick is the proof. The roster fit checks out.
Pick120
Rnd4
Andru Phillips
A straight-up fair deal on Andru Phillips at No. 120, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick123
Rnd4
Cedric Gray
Cedric Gray at the Round 4 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick143
Rnd5
Dylan Laube
A reach on Dylan Laube in Round 5, Pick 7; the board had better options right there. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick238
Rnd7
Myles Harden
They robbed the room for Myles Harden here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
