Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Bills spent pick 177 on Alex Mastromanno, a name most had 44 spots down the list. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D is the result.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. That is a safety worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up.

Job largely done: linebacker settled and 5 of 9 of the wish list covered.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and wide receiver is still a hole.
