The Packers robbed the room for Bertrand. Final grade: B.

Somebody in Round 7, Pick 31 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Packers sat still while JD Bertrand, the No. 195 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

They will need Williams to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

In slot 25 they get a ballhawk on the outside, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick41 Rnd2 Keon Coleman
Keon Coleman slid further than he should have, and No. 41 is lovely value for the wide receiver. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick57 Rnd2 Jonathon Brooks
They paid sticker price for Jonathon Brooks in Round 2, Pick 25, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.

They barely believed it either: Edgerrin Cooper still on the board at the 88th overall pick. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.

A tidy bit of business in the Round 3 slot, where Christian Haynes graded well above the range. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
