There is reaching, and then there is Jay Higgins at the 72nd pick. The Bears jumped the board by 65 and dared it to prove them wrong. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.

Getting Gordon II where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class.

The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They went 7 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
