The 49ers won the night they stopped Martinez from sliding. Grade: B-.

Somebody in slot 196 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The 49ers sat still while Damien Martinez, the No. 148 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

If Jones pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The Winston Jr. pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback still on the board. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.

A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
