Draft Grade — Bears
Overall C+
ValueB NeedB TradesD FutureB
The Bears found their guy under center in Williams: C+.

Start where it matters. The Bears took Caleb Williams to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. It lands right in the middle: a C+, no more, no less.

The Sweat value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

Thrash has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

A perfectly average weekend, for better and for worse.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In the 1st pick they get their quarterback of the future at fair value.
Pick32 Rnd1 Jackson Powers-Johnson
In the 32nd overall pick they get a building block for the line at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick64 Rnd2 T'Vondre Sweat
Steal is underselling it; T'Vondre Sweat at Round 2, Pick 32 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick75 Rnd3 Kamren Kinchens
Kamren Kinchens slipping to pick No. 75 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick122 Rnd4 Jamari Thrash
They went early on Jamari Thrash in No. 122, and the value did not follow. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick132 Rnd4 Christian Jones
Christian Jones at slot 132 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A need, and now a little less of one.
