If confidence were a draft strategy, the Jets would have aced it. Austin Reed at Round 7, Pick 35 is 42 spots clear of where he belonged. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The Muhammad pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. The Jets paired the rookies with proven help, Zaven Collins leading the way.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
