The Cowboys kept it disciplined and banked a B. For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Cowboys walked out of the weekend still thin at wide receiver, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The back end got a real overhaul.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Nate Wiggins
In Round 1, Pick 24 they get a ballhawk on the outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick56
Rnd2
Payton Wilson
A straight-up fair deal on Payton Wilson at the 56th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick87
Rnd3
Trey Benson
No drama and no debate, Trey Benson went about where he belonged in No. 87. It fills a real need, too.
