Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B+
ValueA+ NeedB+ TradesB FutureB-
Grand theft in No. 234: the Seahawks steal Stewart and grade out a B+.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Seahawks were there to profit. Josaiah Stewart, the No. 52 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 234th pick. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.

Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 8 of 8 of the wish list covered. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick19 Rnd1 Abdul Carter
In the 19th pick they get a problem off the edge, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick50 Rnd2 Armand Membou
A offensive lineman of that caliber at pick No. 50 is the definition of value, full stop. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick52 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Nick Emmanwori in No. 52, plain and simple. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick82 Rnd3 Ashton Jeanty
They barely believed it either: Ashton Jeanty still on the board at slot 82. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick84 Rnd3 Jahdae Barron
Jahdae Barron at the Round 3 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick92 Rnd3 Jihaad Campbell
The board fumbled Jihaad Campbell all the way to the 92nd overall pick, and they scooped it up. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick137 Rnd4 Jaxson Dart
Steal is underselling it; Jaxson Dart at pick 137 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It fills a real need, too.
Pick172 Rnd5 Marcus Mbow
You do not let an offensive lineman like Marcus Mbow reach Round 5, Pick 34 and blink. They did not. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick175 Rnd5 Elijah Arroyo
Circle this one: Elijah Arroyo at Round 5, Pick 37 is a fall that decides a draft. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick223 Rnd7 Jack Bech
Jack Bech at pick 223 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick234 Rnd7 Josaiah Stewart
Taking Josaiah Stewart in No. 234 is close to grand larceny; an edge rusher that good had no business lasting this long. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick235 Rnd7 Alfred Collins
They robbed the room for Alfred Collins here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
